Developed software to monitor direct input sensors as well as CAN data from an engine to support a new product development effort. The software, written in LabVIEW, runs in real-time on a cRIO chassis and uses custom FPGA code to perform very high speed calculations measure engine performance parameters. The software also controls outputs that vary engine timing controls. The entire system is portable and installs directly into a vehicle, acquiring data and controlling timing as the vehicle is driving on public roads.
